At the end of 2008 Gadora found more free time than usual. That summer I’d moved back to Dallas from a glorious few years in New York City, then Vegas, where I’d been in hot pursuit of a good living and a great life. Working from home afforded Gadora time to craft holiday gifts for each of my Lady Friends, and family alike. One-of-a-kind gifts from your BFF are priceless, no?

Who doesn’t love their pet? My Lady Friends each have a pet (or four) of their own, so I set out to capture their spirits with a handmade pet portrait. Gadora will be nothing short of devastated when my true love leaves me, but at 17 (years young) it is a very real notion. I knew my girls would love their portraits.

None the wiser, my Lady friends emailed their favorite photos (or I nabbed snaps from their SpaceBook* pages) and worked them on my Mac until ready for print. Each (mostly measuring 5×7) was then meticulously detailed on fine watercolor paper. Gadora chose suitably elegant frames, then carried them to their new homes where I delighted in my friends’ reactions.

Once the holiday’s were good and gone, and they spread the word, serious requests for more “Animal Prints” began to roll in. Bring it. Truly Gadorable, there’s no pet Gadora can’t do.

I love these prints! I would love one for my dog freddy, and as a gift for my mom for her dog gizmo! For some reason my email isnt letting me send you an email! If you could email me please i would love to get two 8X10s done!

I’m was very excited when I saw your ad in the Watercolor magazine. You do a wonderful job. What is your turn-around time? My mom recently lost one of her “babies” and this may be something she would love to have. I would have to find a good pic first, this could just the thing she needs.

hi! i know you are gleefully busy with other projects at the moment, but when you have time, will you puh-lease paint a picture of your favorite canine cousin for me??? i love the close-up of her just chillin’ in her bed, but if you think the one from outside on the dock is better, go for it! you are the creative one, my dear! just let me know what i owe you! love you bunches!!!

We LOVE how you captured Maya not only in ‘aquarelle’ but also with your words. Alpha – she was in spirit and always in our hearts.
