Quentin’s Animal Print referral came from a friend in The Big D who, while visiting Austin in August, spread the gospel of Gadora. (And, THANK YOU Lady R.)

Quentin

Lynde ordered an 8×10 for her Husband’s birthday in February. She’s pregnant after all, so planning ahead is key! By the time February rolls around, she’ll have her hands full with another bundle!

Gadora asked if he was a Maine Coon because I’ve long-held a fascination for them. Lynde’s Quentin is, “part Maine Coon but I don’t think full-bred.” Certainly doesn’t mean she loves him any less… Myself a mother of two rescued cats (one from behind a Fort Worth restaurant alley and one from a Fredericksburg trailer park) who have brought as much joy and vet bills as a pure bred would! But I digress.

Lynde & Quentin ~ Wedding Day

“When I was in college in CA, at the store with a friend, back in 1995, a lady shoved this little Gizmo looking tuxedo cat into my face and said, “you look like you would take good care of this kitten, his mother got killed by a coyote, and this is the runt of the litter that I cannot find a home for…..”

“Quentin was as big as my hand at the time…..not so much a runt anymore at 20 lbs! Anyway, that is my 1st child, and always will be!”

Gadora took some time on completing Quentin’s watercolor portrait. 1) Lynde gave me the gift of time, and 2) his face was so darling, and the photos provided such detail*, I needed to carefully recreate him. Gadora received word Quentin arrived.

“I LOVE IT! OMG – IT IS SO DETAILED, IT LOOKS LIKE A PHOTOGRAPH! MY HUSBAND IS GONNA DIE. GOING TO TAKE IT TO GET FRAMED THIS WEEKEND, WAS GOING TO GIVE IT TO HIM FOR HIS BIRTHDAY IN FEB. BUT I CANNOT WAIT THAT LONG, SO I WILL GIVE IT TO HIM FOR X-MAS. THANKS SO MUCH!” ~ Lynde
