Gadora had her hands full with the Animal Print request for five dogs in Chicago. I couldn’t wait to see their pictures. Five dogs in one household, wow! I bet they’re some cute lil guys. Cute? Indeed. But this five-pack—Howard, Josie, Sabrina, Sherman and Chloe, shown respectively—was anything but small.

The Pups

The Pups

StripeEach of the Bernese Mountain dogs, though similar in appearance, had distinct personalities which were evident as Gadora studied, then rendered, their watercolor portraits. Josie, the long-haired Daschund, appears regal perched on her leather throne. And Sabrina (center) seemed positively put-out in all of her supplied photos. Stand your ground, girl! We know it’s not easy in a house of hounds.

Howard

Howard

Of all five Animal Prints, I think Howard is my favorite. Gadora enjoyed leaving the snowflakes on his brow and painting around them. His eyes are so expressive, and on a cold winter day as in his portrait, I can think of no other creature I’d rather be snugged up to.

Josie

Josie

Josie’s Animal Print was the first I’d worked into a wispy paint application and technique. Her long and luxurious coat flowed in a rainbow of brown and gray and tan hues.

Sabrina

Sabrina

Big-pawed Sabrina pouts her puppy smile for the camera. Hers is a kind and gentle soul.

Sherman

Sherman

Sherman. Sherman. Sherman. You are no doubt a silly (and intelligent) boy. Your expressive eyebrows give you away.

Chloe

Chloe

If ever there were a specific “looker” in the bunch, it’d be you Miss Chloe. Your puppy grin is infectious.

Gadora shipped the pack of pooches off to their proud owner. While still awaiting a picture of the five in their frames, word was sent, “We received the prints and they are so lovely! I can’t wait to pick out a frame for them! Thanks again!” Thank you!
